Scoff Meals review | Chef cooked meal delivery service

As someone who doesn’t like cooking but wants to enjoy tasty and well-balanced meals, I love using meal delivery services. I recently tried Scoff Meals, a chef cooked meal delivery company catering for all diets. Here’s my honest review.

This is a collaboration with Scoff Meals, but as always this review reflects my own opinions, and I only recommend products & services I genuinely enjoy.

About Scoff Meals

Scoff Meals is a meal delivery company based in Enfield, offering a wide range of chef-cooked ready meals that are delivered to your door.

Scoff Meals save you time, but also help you achieve your nutritional goals. Their meal plans are designed by a team of chefs and nutritionists, with options for those who want to be in a calorie deficit, eat at maintenance or gain weight with well-balanced meals.

The menu changes regularly and includes savoury meals as well as breakfasts and snacks. The meals arrive fresh with a 3 to 4 day fridge life. They can be frozen.

Where do Scoff Meals deliver?

Great news, you can order Scoff Meals wherever your are in mainland UK! Your Scoff Meals boxes will be delivered by DPD on Sundays.

Do Scoff Meals offer vegan options?

Yes, Scoff Meals cater for all diets, whether you’re a meat eater, pescatarian, veggie or vegan! They exclusively use meat and poultry that is Halal certified.

How does it work?

First, choose your plan: calorie deficit for fat loss, balance for maintenance or surplus for lean gains.

Next, you select your preferred diet and whether you want lunches and dinners or the full plan including breakfasts and snacks.

You then have the option to select a 3, 5 or 7 day plan. You can see each meal and snack on your plan and can make changes in case a dish doesn’t really tickle your fancy.

Finally, add your delivery details and you’re all set! You just need to wait for your Sunday delivery to arrive.

The subscription service is very flexible and you can amend the meals in your future deliveries, skip an order or pause your subscription. Simply make your changes by Tuesday mid-day before your next scheduled order.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your selected plan. For instance, a full plan (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) for 5 days and vegan is currently £90.99 with a first order discount. A pescatarian lunch & dinner plan for 3 days will cost £42.99 for your first order.

At the moment, you can get 30% off your first box, and 15% off your next two boxes here!

My honest Scoff Meals review

I received a variety of vegan meals and snacks to try on the Balanced plan, which is approximately 2000 calories per day.

The packaging

I’ve tried several meal delivery companies, and I’ve had a handful of bad surprises, from meals no longer cold because there were not enough ice packs (or not at all) to spillage due to poor packaging.

Scoff Meals gave me an excellent first impression upon opening the box: everything was well packaged and there were more than enough ice packs to keep everything really cold, which is always something I’m worried about when ordering ready meals.

They use BePulp packaging which is made from plant fiber and compostable. The container lids and snack sleeves are 100% recyclable.

The meals

I tried almost all the vegan options and honestly loved them all. I really enjoyed the variety of flavours and the worldwide influences from stir fry to tagine and pesto pasta.

It was really convenient to just pop the meals in the microwave for 3 to 4 minutes, and to even have breakfasts and snacks ready to eat. I didn’t need to make time to cook, or even think about what I was going to make.

If you’re not into cooking, having an array of tasty and balanced options at the ready in the fridge is quite the dream!

To give you an idea of my vegan menu, I had PB&Jelly oats as well as “Snickers-style” protein oats for breakfast which were both absolutely incredible. Super thick, creamy and filling. I also had blueberry square pancakes with maple syrup which were super fluffy and delicious.

I even had a savoury brekkie: a vegan frittata, something I would never have cooked myself because I simply don’t have the patience and the skills.

The snacks were also very tasty, I especially enjoyed the Chocolate Fudge bar (so gooey) and the Peanut Butter Cup which kept me full for quite a few hours. They were great afternoon pick-me ups.

As for the lunches and dinners, my favourites were the Korean No Beef Stir Fry, the Red Pesto Penne with vegan parmesan, the Chickpea Tagine and the Cheesy Hempseed Bake.

I can buy a stir fry at the supermarket, but the flavour is not comparable to a chef cooked version. I can make pesto pasta, but my version would be really bland. All the meals were flavour-packed, really well seasoned and provided a good amount of protein, which is something I pay attention to, to support my active lifestyle.

And I’d never have thought of making a cheesy hempseed bake, which was probably the meal I loved the most, because it was not only tasty, but also different to what I usually eat.

That’s another thing I love about meal delivery services: they bring variety into your diet and broaden your horizon of options.

To sum it up, I was really satisfied with my Scoff Meals trial. It’s probably one of the best meal delivery experiences I’ve had.

If you are looking for a meal delivery service that will help you achieve your health & fitness goals, bring variety into your diet, satisfy your taste buds and save you time, then I can only recommend trying Scoff Meals for yourself!
