10 Amazon Pantry Vegan must-haves: from vegan hot choc to protein snacks

I never really thought Amazon Pantry would be the place to shop vegan pantry staples…until I decided to have a look and ended up placing a rather big order. There’s actually a lot more vegan friendly brands selling on Amazon than we’d imagine. Here’s my top 10 Pantry Vegan must-haves from Amazon.

10 Amazon Pantry Vegan staples

In no particular order!

Hotel Chocolat Hot Chocolate

One day my fiancé got me a few Hotel Chocolat vegan goodies including this hot chocolate and I simply love it. It has a rich chocolate taste and strong flavour but not bitter at all. It is the “creamiest” vegan hot choc I’ve tried so far. I make it with almond milk and I add a few vanilla flav drops for extra sweetness.

Tahini

Please tell me I’m not the only one with a tahini addiction? At this stage I can even eat it straight from the jar with a spoon. But if you’re new to tahini, I’d recommend starting with tahini dressings (just combine tahini, lemon juice, salt and pepper) to drizzle onto your meals. It goes really well with veggies and falafels.

I don’t always get my tahini from Amazon but when I do I get the Sead Original Creamy. No palm oil, no nasties, just the natural, pure sesame taste. Some people prefer it sweeter and go for tahini with added flavours. I haven’t personally tried but you might want to give the Sead Caramel Tahini a go.

Ready to eat lentils

Lentils are a vegan staple. Great source of protein, fibre and carbs. I love eating lentils but I don’t have the patience to cook them. Anyone else? That’s why I love the Annabel Lovely Lentils. You can eat them cold or pop them in the microwave for a few minutes and voilà.

Pumpkin seeds

There are some items that you can’t find in your local supermarkets, such as pumpkin seeds. I’d rather order a big batch from Amazon than looking for them in several supermarkets with no guarantee of success.

Nutritional Yeast flakes

Same story with this one, it’s either impossible to find or really expensive in local stores. Nutritional yeast is a great source of protein and healthy fats. You can sprinkle it on pretty much anything to add a cheesy taste to your meals. Absolute staple if you want to make a vegan mac & cheese.

Vegan protein bars

Not every vegan protein bar tastes good, so when you find a good one, stock up! One of my current favourites is the MisFits Vegan Protein bar in chocolate caramel flavour. It’s really hard to believe that this triple layer chocolate coated bar is 100% vegan, but it is! Plus, it contains 16g protein per serving and less than 1g sugar.

Coconut Flour

Have you ever decided to bake something that requires coconut flour and realised that you don’t have any? Save yourself an emergency run to the supermarket (with 50% chance to not find coconut flour) and get some from Amazon Pantry.

Vegan baking mixes

Talking about baking, I’ve openly said in previous blog posts that I’m not very good at it. Sometimes I give a recipe a go, sometimes I just go for the easy and foolproof vegan baking mix. This bundle from Creative Nature is suitable for literally everyone, as it’s not only vegan but also gluten free and nut free. That being said the flavours are incredible. The bundle contains 4 mixes: banana bread (my personal favourite), chocolate cake, choc chip muffins and brownie.

Frozen Acai

I haven’t cracked the perfect homemade acai bowl recipe yet but one thing is sure, using frozen acai is 10x better than powder. Not only Acai berry tastes delicious but it’s packed with antioxidants that support your immune system. Plus, Sambazon Acai is certified organic and fair trade.

Date syrup

It’s one of those you know, you have no idea you need this in your vegan pantry until you try it out of curiosity. I didn’t even know date syrup was a thing but let me tell you, it’s bloody addictive. Biona suggest to use it for baking or as a pancake topping, I personally like to drizzle it on my oats.

There you have it, my top 10 Amazon Pantry vegan staples!
