Which vegan protein bars are actually good? Vegan protein bar reviews
I love a protein bar as a snack on the go or to refuel after a workout. I’ve been testing out several options and here’s a compilation of my honest, unsponsored vegan protein bar reviews.
Tasting and rating vegan protein bars
This post is always a work in progress, being updated every time I try a new vegan protein bar.

I absolutely love how these bars taste, and they don’t cause me any digestive discomfort. Whilst I won’t get tired of this flavour, it would be awesome to have another option for variety.

I tried this bar in salted caramel flavour and I really want to try the other ones. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised, I didn’t expect this bar to taste this good.
It looks so compact on the outside that I almost expected it to be too crunchy and hard to bite into. Turns out the texture is just perfect. This bar is also very filling and makes a great afternoon snack.

PROBAR Protein Bar
Flavours available: Six - Chocolate Brownie, Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Sea Salt Caramel, Mint Chocolate, Coffee Crunch
Protein & calories: 20g protein and 260 to 280kcal depending on the flavour
RRP: £17.20 for 6 bars
Personal rating: 3/10
A disappointment. I don’t know if I was unlucky with a bad batch but I tried the PB Chocolate and Cookie Dough flavours and both bars were so hard to bite into that I gave up finishing them.
Even chewing small chunks was nearly impossible. I also didn’t really enjoy the artificial taste, won’t be buying again.

I bought some Lemon & Cashew bars, which taste amazing and have a lovely fudgy texture. They’re probably not the ones for you if you prefer a crunchy bite!
I only wish the protein content was higher for a 300kcal snack.

Misfits Plant-based Protein Bar
Flavours available: Ten at the time of writing this post, from Cookie Dough to Peanut Butter Fudge
Protein & calories: 14 to 15g protein and 170 - 200kcal per bar depending on the flavour.
RRP: £27.50 for 15 bars.

I tried the Cookie Dough flavour which I really enjoyed. With a tasty vanilla cookie dough flavour paired with satisfyingly crunchy cocoa crispies, it’s like having the best of both worlds: the indulgent taste of a chocolate bar with the nutrition of a protein bar.
