The best vegan-friendly spots in Malaga for vegan brunch, ice cream, doughnuts & more

Looking for the best vegan spots in Malaga? I spent a little over two months in this city and had time to explore the local vegan food scene. Here are my favourite places for delicious plant-based food in Malaga!

Is Malaga vegan-friendly?

Yes, Malaga is a vegan-friendly city. You can easily find tofu, vegan cheese, soya yoghurts, plant-based milk and even vegan tortillas in supermarkets.

How about eating out? A handful of restaurants are 100% plant-based and many places catering for all diets have a decent vegan menu.

The vegan food scene has been on the rise, with new places opening up in the past year making Malaga a great destination for plant-based foodies!

What are the best vegan-friendly spots in Malaga?

I’ve not visited every single place with vegan options because there’s a lot of them, but here are the places that are worth checking out and that I would personally recommend!

Vegan brunch in Malaga

Brunchit is an awesome breakfast/brunch spot in Malaga (you can find locations in other cities too). It’s not the cheapest place, but trust me, the vegan pancakes are worth it.

Another great spot for brunch is Byoko. They are open all day and have vegan options for lunch and dinner, but I think the breakfast menu is more interesting for plant-based foodies.

You can choose between an acai bowl, bircher, chia pudding and a decadent chocolate & PB smoothie bowl. In the mood for something savoury? Try their loaded hummus toast.

Las Muns for vegan empanadas

You can’t be in Spain and miss out on empanadas! The place to go for vegan ones is Las Muns, which have stores up and down the country.

My favourite vegan flavour is Humita (corn, roasted pumpkin and vegan bechamel) but if you love mock meat you’ll really enjoy the vegan cheeseburger one.

Meet Vegano for a proper vegan cuisine experience

Meet Vegano is an incredible vegan restaurant that you need to visit at least once. I’ll definitely go back when I visit Malaga again.

The seasonal menu changes regularly and you’ll find dishes inspired by several cuisines, with a vegan twist. For instance, the menu when I went there featured Spring rolls, bao buns, cauliflower wings as well as the crunchy vegan burger I went for, which was phenomenal.

If you love Biscoff, you will not be able to say no to a slice of their Biscoff cheesecake!

Vegan-te La Siria for Middle-Eastern food

La Siria is the place to go if you’re in the mood for hummus, falafels, baba ganoush and other delicious specialties from the Middle-East.

This spot is 100% vegan, reasonably priced and their cake of the day never disappoints!

Vegan sweet treats in Malaga

Love ice cream? Go to Yummy Helados for an amazing selection of vegan ice cream flavours, from Kinder Bueno to Frappuccino. They also have other vegan goodies such as cakes and cookies.

Are you more a doughnut person? Then Bun and Coffee will be waiting for you with a tasty range of doughnut flavours, all of which are vegan. My personal favourite is the Triple Biscoff doughnut.

Where to find the best oat flat white in Malaga?

Syra Coffee without a doubt! On a mission to “democratise good coffee”, Syra have several spots in the country and recently opened a takeaway location in Malaga.

The coffee is reasonably priced and most importantly, incredibly good. They also have some vegan cakes, such as banana bread.

If you’re looking for a spot to sit down, I’d recommend Next Level Specialty Coffee, their coffee is indeed “next level”.

Want to get some work done and grab a bite?

Head over to No Piqui. They don’t have many vegan options but it’s been my go-to spot when I wanted to work on my laptop in a not so busy environment whilst enjoying an acai bowl.

Also, I love the music they play, mostly pop hits from the 90’s and 00’s.

Check out No Piqui’s menu.
