My honest review of the "Invest in a Sustainable Future" course
What I liked about this course:
The format of the course: each module had a clear purpose and wasn’t too long. It made it easy to fit one module into each day despite being busy. It’s completely possible to complete the course in under a week in your own time.
I also thought that the fact that two women were leading it, making it more engaging and dynamic than if it was only one person talking all the way through.
The content of the course: I have very basic knowledge on the topic but with the first module covering the basics, I didn’t feel lost or unable to follow.
Plus, there is a downloadable handout for each module, if you retain information through reading or want to get back to a specific section later on.
Finally, the price of the course if very affordable and you can start by investing very little money, from £5, which makes it accessible to a lot of women.
Do I recommend it?
If you have little to no experience in sustainable investing, if you want to learn more about this topic and if you want a course that fits around your schedule, then this course is a great starting point.
It is a practical course, however I don’t see it as a step by step guide to investing, which is how the company tends to describe it.
It does give you the knowledge, structure and tools you need to get into sustainable investing, but you still have to do your homework and do your own research into the companies you want to invest in. You might also need further, personalised financial advice to make your first investments.
That being said, I’m glad I took this course as it gave me the basic knowledge and a “how to” guide which will come in handy when I feel ready to start investing after further learning.
Even if you don’t end up investing, it’s always good to have some knowledge and for instance be able to identity greenwashing discourse.
To sum it up, if you’re interested in investing in a responsible way and putting your money where your ethics are but lack knowledge and experience, this course is exactly what you need to take your first steps!
Plus, it’s only £49 (and take 15% off with code CHLOE15) so it’s not a massive risk to take! Find out more here!
