Bob W Copenhagen unsponsored review
I recently spent a week in Copenhagen and stayed in a Bob W studio for the first time. If you’ve not heard of this company, here’s everything you need to know and my honest Bob W experience.

Bob W Copenhagen
Bob W has made its mark in Copenhagen, bringing its signature blend of cool, eco-friendly short-stay rentals to Østerbro, Copenhagen's lively eastern neighbourhood.
You can choose between several types of studios, with or without balcony, or opt for a more spacious one bedroom apartment.
The building is equipped with a luggage storage room, a laundry room and a communal lounge (with board games).
In each unit you’ll find a polaroid camera that you can borrow to capture memories during your stay as well as some gifts for you to keep, such as a tote bag, postcards and Danish delicacies like marzipan chocolates.
Your stay grants you free access to the gym that is just a couple minute walk away and complimentary online yoga classes via the TV in your studio.
Just like every Bob W, everything is keyless. You receive access codes for the front door and need the Bob W app to unlock your own studio door. The Bob W team are always on hand via Whatsapp should you have any questions or issues.
My honest review of Bob W Copenhagen
After getting a last minute entry to the Copenhagen Half, I needed to find an a place to stay in the neighbourhood. As I was going to be there for a week, I wanted a place with a kitchen, enough space and offering a decent value for money.
My options were fairly limited, but I came across Bob W on Booking.com and luckily, there were still a couple studios available. I ended up booking a studio with balcony for 7 days, which cost me £1700.
Upon reflection, I could have done with a Queen studio without balcony, which was cheaper - but I thought it might have been too small if my partner ended up travelling with me.
What I loved about my stay at Bob W Copenhagen
The keyless access and app system
I’m a huge fan of this concept, as I’m always going out with my phone and it’s nice to have to worry about losing a key. You can also use the app to request gym access, enter the laundry room or book a cleaning (for a fee).
The 24/7 online support
Anytime I asked a question or messaged the team on Whatsapp, they replied within minutes. It was reassuring to know that if there was any issue, I’d get assistance straight away..
The studio
I felt completely at home and at ease in the studio. It was functional yet aesthetic and well equipped with clear attention to details and Danish touches.
There was plenty of storage (even bed drawers) and whilst the kitchen area was small, it had everything I needed to cook.
I didn’t really need a balcony, but it was really pleasant to be able to step outside and sip on my coffee whilst watching the sunrise.
The area was also very quiet, I wasn’t disturbed at all by outside noises and I could barely hear the other guests walking in the hallway.
The neighbourhood
It was the perfect location for the Copenhagen Half as it’s really close to the start and finish, but also a great neighbourhood in general with a few coffee shops nearby and plenty of supermarkets. Getting around was very easy with a tube station close by and plenty of bus stops.
Any dislikes?
I’ll be nitpicking here, but these are the details that could have made my stay even better.
The partner gym wasn’t the best. It wasn’t a regular gym where you do your own workout, it was one of those circuit gyms where you need to follow a specific plan going from a machine to another. I wish they had partnered with the Puregym nearby.
It would have been great to find salt and oil in the kitchen. When you’re only staying a handful of days, you don’t necessarily want to buy a full bottle of oil and salt that you’re going to leave behind. Washing liquid, soap, shower gel, shampoo and even Q-tips were provided, so why not also provided some cooking essentials?
The laundry system wasn’t extremely straightforward. The instructions in the room were in Danish and it looked like you had to pay. It’s only when I messaged the team on Whatsapp that I found out that I needed to grab a fob from the luggage room to be able to use one of the washing machines for free. There also didn’t seem to have any laundry products, so it might be worth packing a few laundry tabs with you.
Would I stay in a Bob W studio again?
Overall, I had a seamless experience and a lovely stay. It was my very first time booking a Bob W studio but from now on I’ll always check their website for my European trips and I hope to visit more Bob W locations.
I’m also planning on running the Copenhagen Half again in the future and I’ll certainly re-book a Bob W studio then!
