Unsponsored review of the Summer Fridays Light Aura Vitamin C + Peptide Eye Cream
I’ve nearly finished my first jar after using this eye cream every day for a couple months, so it’s time to share my honest thoughts.
The feel and texture
I’m rather picky when it comes to eye cream texture. I equally dislike when it’s too thick or too fluid and Summer Fridays’ eye cream consistency is the perfect middle ground.
A little goes a long way, I only use a pea-size amount for both under-eyes. Whilst it penetrates quickly, I still have enough time to massage it onto the skin before it gets completely absorbed.
I personally find that taking an extra 30 seconds to awaken the under eye area with light fingertip pressure really helps with puffiness and tiredness. It’s not just about the product, it’s also about how you apply it!
The added Squalane in the formula is great for my dehydration-prone skin. I find that it works well when I wear concealer or foundation: if my under eye area is hydrated, the makeup doesn’t crease and stays put for longer.
The results
I’ve seen visible results from using a Peptide serum every morning, so I wanted to get an eye cream that contains Peptides for a more targeted action, which is why I decided to try this Summer Fridays one.
After several weeks, my under eye area is looking firmer, which encourages me to keep the Peptides in my skincare routine.
Whilst dark circles are not really an issue for me, my dullness prone skin can easily look tired, and I often wake up with puffy under eyes after a too short night’s sleep. I found that the Vitamin C and Caffeine combo does wonders when it comes to brightening and rejuvenating the area.
In my experience, the Summer Fridays Light Aura Vitamin C + Peptide Eye Cream is a great match for those looking to reduce signs of ageing overtime whilst tackling dullness and puffiness upon application.
Any downsides?
My only critic isn’t about the product itself but the packaging.
Whilst the jar is beautiful, it’s not very handy to scoop product out of it, especially when you have long nails and are getting to the bottom of the container.
I would personally prefer a tube format for ease, but this minor inconvenience doesn’t outweigh all the pros of this eye cream and I’m likely to buy it again next time it’s on sale on Cult Beauty.
