Noughty Wave Hello range for curly hair unsponsored review
Looking for Noughty haircare reviews? I’ve nearly finished the products I got from their Wave Hello range for curly hair and here are my honest thoughts. I bought the products myself, this review is not sponsored.
About Noughty
Noughty was founded in 2016 by Rachel and Lorna, two friends and beauty industry experts who set out to create a natural brand that would be both effective and accessible.
They were joined by Jennifer Hirsch, the “beauty botanist” heading up the formulation of high-performing products largely powered by plants.
Noughty ethics
Each Noughty product is packed with 97% (or more) natural ingredients which deliver numerous haircare benefits and make the formulas effective.
The remaining 3% are synthetic ingredients which make the formulas safe to be bottled up, prevent quick expiry dates and make your hair smell wonderful.
The company works on limiting their impact on the environment by sourcing responsibly and working with farms that share the same ethics, but also by pledging to be plastic neutral.
For this, Noughty works closely with CleanHub. For every product made, the plastic equivalent is removed from the ocean.
Is Noughty cruelty-free and vegan?
Yes, Noughty is 100% cruelty-free and vegan! All of their products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme and certified by The Vegan Society.
You won’t find any lanolin, honey, beeswax or other animal-derived ingredients in Noughty formulas.
Noughty haircare ranges
Over the years Noughty have expanded their range of products, from shampoos to styling products, catering to all hair types and needs.
Some of their best-sellers include To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment for dry/damaged hair, Wave Hello Curl Defining Jelly for curly hair and Pumped Up Volumising Conditioner for fine hair that lacks volume.
The brand also launched a bodycare range with shower oils and body moisturisers.
Noughty Wave Hello honest review
I bought the following Noughty products a couple months ago whilst they were on sale at Sephora.
The Wave Hello range also includes the Curl Butter 3-in-1 Treatment and the Hey Curl Scrunching Jelly.
This range is specifically designed for those with waves, curls, coils or kinks. My hair is loosely curly, prone to frizz and totally lacks definition if I don’t use the right products.
Noughty Wave Hello Curl Defining Shampoo
This sulfate-free shampoo contains Sea Kelp extract, Chlorella extract and Avocado oil which are packed with vitamins and antioxidants.
I often find that shampoos designed for curls hair leave my hair feeling rather dry and rough to the touch, so I was a little worried of being disappointed with this one. Thankfully it wasn’t the case at all!
It does a great job at cleansing my hair without stripping off all the moisture. I think the addition of Avocado Oil is really beneficial to improve softness and smoothness.
I exercise a lot, which means that I sweat a lot and I wash my hair often. I’m pleased to see that this formula doesn’t make my hair dry (or worse, greasy) with frequent washes.

Noughty Wave Hello Curl Defining Conditioner
This conditioner is supercharged with replenishing and moisturising natural ingredients, such as Irish Moss, Avocado & Olive Oils as well as Coconut Oil and Shea Butter, which are curls’ best friends.
The formula also contains Sea Fennel, which helps smooth the cuticles. Not only does this help define the curls, but it also reflects more light, for shinier hair.
I absolutely love using this conditioner, because unlike other conditioners I tried in the past, it gives my hair a silky soft texture which doesn’t disappear when it starts drying.
This conditioner also helps detangle any knots and really brings out the best of my curls. Plus, it smells lovely.
RRP: £7.99 - Find it on Sephora or Lookfantastic
Noughty Wave Hello Curl Taming Cream
What I love about this cream is that despite its really rich and thick texture, it doesn’t weigh my hair down and doesn’t feel sticky at all.
The formula contains Mango butter which gives your hair a buttery smooth texture, as well as QuinOxy, the brand’s signature curl optimising formula packed with Wheat extract, Camelia oil and Linoleic acid.
Not only does it define the curls but it also tames frizz and keeps the volume under control. It’s exactly what my hair needs and it’s one of the only styling products I’ve been genuinely happy with.
I apply a small grape-size amount on my damp lengths (from ear level) and “scrunch” the curls with my hands before leaving my hair to air-dry.
If I’m in a hurry and need to use the hairdryer, I know that this product will drastically reduce frizz and annoying flyaways I’d otherwise get with the heat.
If I were to pick my favourite products out of the 3, it would be this cream, as it’s the one that has made the most noticeable difference to my hair.
RRP: £7.99 - Find it on Sephora
Final words
To conclude, I’m really pleased with the products I’ve tried so far and I’ll probably order again. I’m also tempted to try the Curl Butter mask.
If you’re looking for vegan haircare that delivers results without breaking the bank, I can only recommend giving Noughty a go! Keep an eye out for discounts on Sephora website.
