Where to go for a vegan breakfast or brunch in Beckenham?

Can you find a good breakfast or brunch spot in Beckenham? I spent some time there and whilst the choice is limited, you can still enjoy a lovely plant-based brekkie! Here are my vegan-friendly recommendations.

Vegan breakfast or brunch spots in Beckenham, South London

These are the 2 places I visited several times and would recommend.

The Homestead Cafe

The Homestead Cafe is located in Beckenham Place Park and serves food from 8am to 3pm.

I would highly recommend their vegan breakfast brioches. The menu slightly changes each season but they always have at least one vegan option. I had the one with butterbean patty, mushrooms and spinach twice and absolutely loved it.

Their coffee is delicious, so why not pair it with an oat flat white or try their pea milk?

They have a lot of tables outside and it gets quite lively on sunny weekends after 11am. If you don’t want to wait in a long queue, arrive early!

I also tried the homemade vegan sausage roll which was really tasty and great to share whilst waiting for your brioche if you’re really hungry.

There’s usually at least one vegan cake option and if you see the vegan peanut butter blondie, you should definitely get a piece for your afternoon snack before they’re all gone!

Eatwell Beckenham

Eatwell is a restaurant thriving to offer fresh, healthy and tasty food to everyone, with a lot of vegan options on the menu. Located in Beckenham High Street, this spot is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I visited twice for breakfast. The first time was on Pancake Day so naturally I had to try their vegan pancakes. They are made with coconut milk and topped with coconut yoghurt, fruit compote, fresh fruit and a drizzle of agave.

I thoroughly enjoyed them, although they were not very “instaworthy” they tasted lovely.

On my second visit I fancied something warm and comforting so I chose the Jumbo Oat Porridge. It’s a very generous portion, great if you’re hungry!

The porridge is made with coconut milk and topped with fruit, coconut yoghurt as well as agave. It was very creamy and definitely hit the spot.

The only downside of this spot is that I didn’t really enjoy their coffee. The flat white tasted like washed down americano with almond milk both times and I should have got a juice.

More vegan-friendly spots for breakfast & brunch in Beckenham

Here are some other spots with vegan-friendly options, all located on Beckenham High Street.

Poached

Poached is a tiny coffee shop on Beckenham High Street serving delicious coffee and offering some vegan options, such as overnight berry oats and a tasty Pretzel bun with tofu, chilli jam & avocado.

They also have a spot in Dulwich.

Em’s Kitchen

Em’s Kitchen is a cute and cozy restaurant with a handful of plant-based breakfast options. If you fancy something fresh, go for Em’s Protein Bowl which is Alpro yog based and topped with granola, PB, banana and chia seeds.

Those who are hungry can tuck in the Vegan breakfast, featuring avocado, vegan sausages, falafels, tomatoes and mushrooms.

Fee & Brown

Fee & Brown is another great specialty coffee house for coffee lovers. They open at 7:30am on weekdays, perfect for your early morning fix.

I wish there were more vegan options, but as of now you can get the avocado toast. On your lucky day, they might be able to alter a toastie to make it vegan or have a vegan cake on display.
