Guide to the best vegan pizzas in Brighton
Purezza
Many will agree, Purezza is THE place to go for delicious vegan pizzas. There are several Purezza restaurants in the UK, including one in Brighton and one in Hove. The secret? their own vegan mozzarella, which melts to perfection and tastes incredible.
The full menu is vegan and quite frankly, they made it hard to choose. Everything sounds delicious, but I would recommend the dough balls or garlic bread to start, followed by “The one with the Pesto” or “The one with the Truffle”.
Although the crust is super thin, the pizzas are quite filling especially if you also order sides. Make sure you arrive hungry! If you still have some room for dessert, the salted caramel brownie or lemon cheesecake might tempt you.
Finally, Purezza is a great choice if you’re gluten free or if you have other food allergies, as they make a point to cater for every dietary requirement.
Address: 12 St James’s Street, BN2 1RE

Al Forno Pizza
I would say that Al Forno is the second best place for a vegan pizza, simply because they’re the non-vegan restaurant offering the most choice.
They have a whole vegan section on their menu with plenty of starters, such as garlic bread with vegan cheese and caramelized onions and 9 vegan pizzas. You can also ask for a gluten free base. Several of them feature either vegan ham, vegan chorizo or tofu which is perfect if you love a “meaty” vegan pizza.
I would recommend the Roasted veggie & smoked tofu or the Spinach & Pesto one. Prefer pasta? No problem, check out the vegan pasta options.
Room for dessert? The choco-coco tart and salted caramel brownie should sort your sweet tooth out.
Address: 78 St James's Street, BN2 1PA

Pinocchio
Pinocchio is a family-run authentic Italian restaurant and also the oldest Italian restaurant in Brighton. The menu was revisited recently and now includes delicious plant-based options.
Pinocchio is a great place for a family or group meal where everyone has different dietary requirement and wants delicious fresh food, but not necessarily pizza.
The menu offers several vegan antipasti and salads, as well as pasta dishes (such as vegan bolognese). As for the vegan pizzas, there are 4 options with vegan mozzarella and vegetables.
There are no “mock meat” or tofu so if you wanted a “meaty” pizza, it might not really hit the spot. However if you love a vegan Ortolana, then this menu is for you.
Address: 22 New Road, BN1 1UF

Fatto a Mano
Fatto a Mano is an Italian pizzeria with a few vegan options on the menu, perfect if you’re going out with non-vegan friends or family members. There are two different locations in Brighton.
The vegan options are simple (Margarita, Ortolana…) but sometimes a simple pizza is all you need. Plus, if you want to finish on a sweet note, you can order a vegan gelato.
Address: 77 London Road, BN1 4JF and 5 Gloucester Road, BN1 4AQ
Check out the menu here.
Dodo Pizza
Dodo Pizza is mostly known for being a takeaway and delivery pizza place, perfect if you want to have dinner at the beach or at home.
There are currently two vegan pizza options on the menu: the “Vegan Overload”: vegan cheese, sweet corn, red onions, green peppers, marinara sauce, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms or the “Vegan Hot”: vegan cheese, red onions, green peppers, marinara sauce, chilli peppers, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, sriracha sauce.
Side wise, you can order vegan nuggets or a vegan dodster. Finally, they have tubs of Ben&Jerry’s vegan ice-cream!
Address: 6 York Place, BN1 4GU
