Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity 9" running shorts with phone pocket *unsponsored review*
The Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity 9" cycling shorts may be primarily for riders, but let me tell you one thing, they’re amazing for running! If you’re looking for running shorts with a side phone pocket, you might want to check these out!
This review is not sponsored in any way, I bought the shorts myself.
Does Sweaty Betty make great running gear?
Sweaty Betty may not be the very first brand that comes to mind for running gear, but they do have a lot of great options for runners.
The brand’s most popular leggings are the Zero Gravity, which are extremely flattering and breathable, comfortable to wear and quick drying. Not to mention the side phone pockets, ticking all the boxes for running leggings!
Sweaty Betty also have high support sports bras for instance the Ultra Running Bra designed for high impact activities such as running.
Sweaty Betty running gear is not the cheapest out there, but after having personally experienced the quality and durability of the garments, I can confirm that they’re absolutely worth the investment.
Plus, Sweaty Betty often run sales with up to 50% off their best sellers.
Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity 9" cycling shorts
These bum-sculpting biker shorts are both stylish and practical. The ultra-lightweight Italian fabric not only feels silky soft but also boasts sweat-wicking and quick-drying properties, keeping you comfortable during intense workouts.
Practical features include two side pockets (big enough for a smartphone) and back zip pocket for convenient storage, while the UV protection of 40+ safeguards your skin. With an inseam length of 23cm (9 inches) in size S, these shorts are just the perfect length in my opinion.
Finally, the high-waisted design coupled with compression technology, is incredibly flattering.
I would say that they are true to size, I am usually an XS and this is the size I got them in.

Why I love the Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity 9" shorts for running
I bought the Zero Gravity 7/8 running leggings a while ago, I’ve been wearing them a lot and they stand the test fo time, so I decided to order the Zero Gravity shorts during the Black Friday sale, and I can’t recommend them enough.
Here are the 3 things I love the most about the Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Cycling Shorts (for running!):
Flattering fit: These biker shorts are non-padded, but still bum-sculpting and whilst I don’t really focus on how I look when running, wearing flattering gear is always a nice confidence boost!. Plus, high waisted shorts look great on everyone! Oh and in my experience, these shorts do not ride up. Once I’ve put them on, I don’t need to adjust them at all.
Sweat-wicking fabric: I’ve not come across any similar fabric in other brands. Sweaty Betty’s Italian fabric is featherlight, silky soft and does a great job a keeping me cool. It efficiently wicks away sweat and dries quickly, so I don’t end up feeling moist and uncomfortable at the end of a long run workout.
Side phone pockets: For safety reasons I always run with my phone and I prefer being able to store it on the side of my thigh, as it’s easier to grab than in a back pocket, where I put my keys. The side pockets in these shorts are big enough for my Iphone, which stays perfectly secure even if I pick up the pace. And I use the other side pocket to store an energy gel.
To sum it up, the Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity 9" shorts are the perfect blend of style and performance, combining practical features and silhouette-enhancing design. I have worn them a lot already and even after a number of washes, they still look brand new.
I’d recommend them to any runner who’s looking for a reliable pair of running shorts with side pockets.
