Refillable deodorant for sensitive skin: Fussy goes bicarb-free

Are you looking for a refillable deodorant that is suitable for your sensitive skin? Great news, Fussy are now offering bicarb-free deodorant scents for sensitive armpits. Find out more and grab a discount below.

I received these products as part of an ongoing partnership with Fussy. I only recommend brands and products I genuinely use and enjoy.

Fussy in brief

Born in 2020, Fussy is on a mission to help us throw away less plastic with their refillable deodorant subscription concept that is good for your armpits and for the planet.

The deodorant case is made with recycled plastic and sturdy enough to last for years. The plastic-free refills are super easy to replace within seconds and they’re also compostable. Once your current refill is empty, it can just be left to decompose in your bin or garden.

Fussy is also a B Corp and is proud to hold their Leaping Bunny certification. Not to mention that all of their deodorant scents are vegan!

Not to mention that the subscription system allows you to receive your refills at home without having to do anything! You can find out more about Fussy in my previous review about the brand.

How to choose the right deodorant for your sensitive skin?

If you have sensitive skin, the most important thing when choosing a deodorant is to ensure it doesn’t contain any bicarbonate of soda.

Why? Because this ingredient is very alkaline and it raises the pH of your skin, which can cause some skin reactions ranging from mild dryness to redness and rashes.

It can also be beneficial to opt for a formula that is enriched with moisturising and conditioning ingredients to keep your skin happy.

For instance, Fussy ingredients include Sunflower wax, Coconut oil and Shea butter to help prevent dryness and irritation.

Fussy goes bicarb-free

The OG Fussy formula contains a little bit of bicarbonate of soda, which is very high grade and in a much smaller amount than other brands.

If your skin is only mildly sensitive, chances are your armpits will be just fine with the regular Fussy scents.

But for those who have extra sensitive skin and need to avoid irritation hazards at all costs, Fussy launched their Sensitive Skin range of scents, which are bi-carb free.

How to know which Fussy scents are bicarb-free?

When you get to the “Choose your scents” section on the website, simply switch from Normal to Sensitive and only the bicarb-free scents will be displayed.

At the time of writing this post, there are currently 3 sensitive skin scents:

  • Wide Eyed for those who swear by Citrus scents. This one combines Mandarin & Grapefruit with hints of Black Pepper.

  • Night Tales, which you’ll love if you enjoy wood and floral smells. The bold Cedar and Patchouli scents and enhanced with a spicy touch of Cinnamon. This one has a richer, more noticeable smell but it’s my personal favourite.

  • Bare All which is unscented, perfect if you’re not into fragrances.

Just like the OG formula, the sensitive skin range doesn’t leave white marks on your skin and clothes and keeps body odour at bay all day.

How much does it cost?

Only £10.50 for your case and first refill when applying code AFFCHLOE15 here to your subscription, then £15 for 3 refills.

Why choose Fussy deodorant for your sensitive skin?

I’ve been a Fussy enthusiast for a couple years now, and I think their deodorant ticks all the boxes.

The hassle-free system makes it super easy to switch to a refillable deodorant and reduce your plastic consumption, the formula is cruelty-free & vegan, and the subscription service ensures that you never run out of refills.

Plus, now, even people with the most sensitive armpits can switch to Fussy!

You can set up your sensitive skin deodorant subscription right here. If you already have a case, head this way for refills.
