3 unique workout classes to try in London

Reshape at 1Rebel

This high-intensity interval training workout combines treadmill running with strength exercises. You alternate between intervals on the treadmill (sprints, inclines and even a cool Parachute mode) and resistance training exercises using dumbbells and a bench.

The room is dark so you don’t feel like everyone’s watching you, the playlist is carefully curated to motivate you, it’s the perfect set up for a great fully body workout.

This 45-minute session is designed to develop your overall fitness by improving stamina and strength. It’s intense, but you leave feeling super energised. I love doing this class first thing in the morning, it’s such a great start to the day.

There are multiple 1Rebel locations across London, my favourites are Broadgate and St Mary Axe.

Price: £49 for your first pack of 3 classes. Then it’s £26 for a one-off. Memberships and packs are available.

BLOKSTRENGTH at BLOK

If cardio-based classes are not for you, this one may be up your street! BLOKSTRENGTH is all about strength training, emphasising on proper technique for lifting weights.

After some warming up and mobility, the instructor will take you through some tri-sets, supersets and AMRAPS working every muscle.

There’s a wide range of dumbbell and kettlebell weights available so that you can pick the right ones for you, and you’re encouraged to go grab different weights at any points, if you feel like you can go heavier or need to go lighter.

I always enjoy this class because it’s a unique concept and it gives me ideas for my own workouts, from supersets or exercise variations (for instance, I had never done Gorilla rows before going to this class)

In London, you can find BLOK in Shoreditch - the OG studio - and Upper Clapton.

Price in Shoreditch: £40 for your first 3 classes (excluding the premium ones). Then it’s £23 for a one-off. Memberships and packs are available.

PS: BLOK is also in Manchester, read my dedicated BLOK Manchester review here.

Re.Define Signature at RUMBLE

This 45-minute low impact yet ultra effective workout blends Pilates and Barre for full-body burn that you’ll definitely feel.

The class simulates Reformer movements with gliders, engaging muscles deeply to strengthen, improve posture, balance and overall flexibility.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class and felt like I engaged muscles I don’t really use when doing my usual running and weight lifting routine. It’s definitely a great class to challenge yourself in a different way.

There are 3 Rumble studios in London. I’d personally recommend Anna’s class at the Dalston studio. PS: it gets quite warm, avoid long sleeves!

Price: £45 for your first 3 classes. Then it’s £25 for a one-off. Memberships are available.
